As a child, Matilda dreamed of having her own business, she started with a grocery store that failed. With the products left over from the business, she decided to make chillies with vinegar and sell them door to door. People liked the product and she started selling it in the neighborhood stores.

“With the credit loan from Compartamos Banco, we had the opportunity to make our business grow.  With our first loan, my husband built a gas grill and a pan. With the second loan we bought a small car, and the third loan helped us to buy a second hand truck, With further loans, we have enlarged the business.  The warehouse has a new floor and we can buy and store more merchandise”, says Matilde.

The business has had an impact on the family. Working together they create a stronger bond of affection. Matilde says her best team is her family.

"I attribute the success of my business to the dedication and love that we, the family, have put into the products", Matilde tells us.

In the future Matilda wants to hire more employees, buy a new truck, register her product, bring her product to other places and participate in exhibitions in Huajuapan and Puerto Escondido.
